Mooresville Arts 12th Annual Winter Juried Exhibit - Prospectus (Terms & Conditions)
SCOPE OF EXHIBIT:
This is a juried show, so not all entries will be accepted for exhibition. The Juror will select all art to be exhibited (virtually), and the Juror will choose awards (in-person). Entrants will be notified if their work is selected, or not selected, for the exhibition. Those NOT accepted into the exhibit should NOT bring in their artwork during intake weekend. There is no theme for the show.

Submissions must be received BY 5PM on Friday, January 3. 2025. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
CALENDAR:
***IMPORTANT*** If you are unable to arrange for your artwork to be dropped off or picked up on the designated dates listed above, you MUST contact the Gallery Director (contact info on page 3) to make other arrangements. Please do not drop off or pick up your work early without prior acknowledgment. Each exhibit is promoted through the end of each show, and many patrons visit the Gallery (and purchase) in the final week of the shows. Works not picked up within 10 days will become the property of Mooresville Arts.
AWARDS:
***Artists’ Reception: Friday, January 17, 2025 (6-8pm)
1st Place Award, 2nd Place Award, 3rd Place Award, plus 5 Juror’s Choice Awards. $1,500 will be awarded in cash and/or prizes.
ENTRY FEE:
$35 MA Members in good standing (limit of 2 works); $50 Non-members (limit of 2 works). Please only pay entry fee once. Membership is welcome, starting at $50 for individual memberships. JUROR: Morgan Mathieu Tran, Managing Director of Elder Gallery, Charlotte, NC
Morgan Mathieu Tran is a devoted arts advocate and leader, serving the Charlotte community for nearly ten years in both nonprofit and commercial art realms. As managing director, Morgan executes Elder Gallery’s vision through her curation of exhibitions and programming, as well as oversight of artist development, client relations, operations, and community outreach. As an artist herself, Tran is dedicated to amplifying and centering artistic voices within Elder’s many spheres, championing both creators and collectors alike.
Tran earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Arts with a minor in Business Administration from Meredith College.
She currently serves as the Development Committee Chair on the Board of Directors of Arts for Life, a non-profit organization serving pediatric patients through arts engagement and education in three campuses across North Carolina. She is also a member of the Mint Museum, the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art Young Visionaries Society, the McColl Center, the Harvey B. Gantt Center, and the Light Factory.
ELIGIBILITY:
Artists 18 years of age or older may submit up to a total of two entries. Eligibility may be given to some artists 16-18 years of age; please email us for details.
All Fine Art entries accepted in any medium. Acceptable examples of media include, but are not limited to: painting, drawing, photography, digital art, collage, mixed media, clay, ceramics, glass, woodwork, fiber arts, metalwork and sculpture (please email the Gallery Committee for any further questions on media eligibility if unsure).
The artwork must be the artist's own original creation in concept, composition and execution. Work produced from other artists’ photographs (unless with express permission), advertisements, websites, art books, other artists’ works, commercial or mass-produced mold or patterns as well as artwork created in a workshop or class or under the direction of an instructor is not allowed for entry. Artwork must be created 100% by the artist; no usage of AI will be accepted. Work must have been completed after January 1, 2022 and not entered in ANY previous show (including but not limited to: judged, juried, themed, members’ shows) sponsored by Mooresville Arts. There is no theme for this show.
Artists who are sponsoring parties of this show, or family members of, are still eligible to apply but those artists’ entries will not be considered for judging/awards. Family members of show Judges/ Jurors are also eligible to apply for the show but will not be considered for judging/awards.
SIZE AND OTHER LIMITATIONS:
SALES:
Please note all accepted submissions to our show will be displayed in our galleries, and if so desired, are offered for sale. Mooresville Arts will assess a 30% commission for members and 40% for non-members on all work sold. No POR (Price on Request) for artwork is allowed. Mark price as NFS is you do not desire to sell.
REPRODUCTION RIGHTS:
Mooresville Arts Gallery reserves the right to photograph any work or use artist-provided images for publicity or promotional purposes. No compensation is provided for this use. If you have a Facebook or Instagram profile, please like/follow Mooresville Arts so that we can tag your account/profile in our promotional efforts!

Mooresville Arts will do everything possible to keep each piece safe. However, submission of an entry is at the artist’s own risk. Only a limited amount of insurance is provided. The declared value of the work must be reasonable and in line with the artist’s previous sales. It is suggested that an artist wanting more protection should insure his or her own art.
